Coconut Water ... Whats the deal?

Nature’s sports drink. 100% pristine water from inside a coconut. Coconut Water is a Powerful hydration packed full of electrolytes, phytonutrients and minerals. A great source of potassium (more than a banana), plus magnesium and calcium all there naturally. Ounce for ounce, coconut water has fewer calories, less sodium, and more potassium than a sports drink. It’s virtually fat free. A glass of Natural Coconut Water is also great for people who are trying to lose weight… it has only 40 calories, plus it suppresses the appetite and makes you feel full.

Thousands of years before Gatorade was a thing, people of the tropics were refueling and rehydrating simply by breaking open a green coconut. They had no idea that the water inside was full of electrolytes and vitamins and minerals. They just knew it worked to quench their thirst and keep them going during hot, strenuous activity. It was also widely used for medicinal purposes.

Today, coconut water is invading the store shelves. American sales of coconut water have skyrocketed from virtually zero to more than $150 million in just 12 years.

So what’s the big deal?

Ounce for ounce, coconut water has fewer calories, less sodium, and more potassium than a sports drink. It’s virtually fat free.

Unlike any other beverage on the market, coconut water contains five essential electrolytes that are present in the human body. These include: calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and sodium. Less sodium than sports drinks, but more potassium than a banana. And of course, there are no processed sugars or additives of any kind.

Coconut Water if probably the best natural replacement for lost electrolytes. Great for those who are dehydrated and a much better choice for athletes than sugar filled sports drinks (which also causes a high decay rate in teeth).
